DESCRIPTION:Tablet weaving (also referred to as “card weaving”) is one of the oldest weaving technologies we know about – just by using square cards with 4 holes punched in the corners\, you can make incredibly complex designs and create your own lanyards\, bag straps\, shoelaces\, belts\, and more! \nIn this 3-hour class\, we’ll use 10 cards and weaving cotton to create a simple striped band\, starting from the warping process and going all the way through weaving your first few inches of the band. SUMMARY:Woven Dishtowels on a Rigid Heddle Loom
DESCRIPTION:Dishtowels are a classic handwoven item that provide a blank canvas for just about any technique; colors\, fancy stitches\, you name it. In this class we will discuss weaving with cotton yarns\, how to determine sett\, how to warp for multiple items at once\, and what makes a good handwoven dishtowel. Students will have two warp options to choose from\, a fine 8/2 cotton or a worsted cotton. This three part class will teach you to plan for and warp your towels\, how to hemstitch\, to use pickup sticks to create designs in your weaving\, how to weave multiple pieces on the same warp\, how to weave with cotton\, as well as how to create a hand rolled hem. This class is designed for looms that are 16” or larger. Smaller looms are welcome but expect to make adjustments.

DESCRIPTION:Rigid Heddle Weaving from Start to Finish is designed for complete beginners who want to learn the all the basics of weaving on this user-friendly loom. The class will cover the entire weaving process from selecting yarn and reeds sizes\, warping the loom\, threading the reed\, learning tips for good tension\, weaving different patterns\, and finishing. The class is divided into two sessions\, a week apart\, to allow time for working at home in between sessions. Students will warp their loom and start to weave a scarf in the first class\, and finish and start a second sample piece in the second class.
